My son is two years old and loves to play on the Wii, however for him, most of the games are just slightly too difficult for him to play with any wonderful success. When UbiSoft asked if I would be interested in reviewing a brand new Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends Game titled "Hero of the Rails" I knew that my Thomas mad son would adore the game.
There are hundreds of Thomas the tank engine toys available. A large number of these are train set related! This shouldn't come as a surprise for fans of Thomas and his friends! The engines and carriages all have names and kids are very excellent at understanding these. Parents are expected to be able to know the difference too!
Trackmaster Thomas is actually a motorised train set that youngsters will love! it's appropriate for young children aged 3 upwards while they may need some enable arranging the track layouts! You can invest in further engines in each and every range too so they can gather the full set.
The very first display gives you two options, you are able to either go to a "Story" section or a "Game" section. On our very first play my husband went towards the Game section and we chose a random game which was a race between two engines, 1 of which is controlled by your hand movements on the Wii controller. The game began just before explaining how you were to make use of the controller to create your engine move and my husband discovered himself working quite hard to catch up (and then overtake) the engine he was racing.
After doing all the games, we decided to listen to the story. I was sitting on the floor when suddenly I realised that the story wants input as a way to progress. My Son observed the game a lot easier for him to total than other games that we have and it took thirty minutes to listen to the story and do the games within the story. My husband was a bit worried that our son would get bored right after he had completed the game, but he has asked to play it once again on a few occasions and has played together with little or no support from me.
